PRIME MINISTER SRETTHA Thavisin today (June 22) paid a private visit to Pattaya, one of Thailand’s biggest tourism income earners.
The prime minister, who has planned to spend the weekend with his family in Pattaya, inquired with local authorities about measures to maintain tourists’ safety, dispose of garbage and treat wastewater, especially those at Koh Larn island off the world-renowned beach city.
Srettha visited Khao Phra Tamnak hill on the southern edge of the beach city where Formula One racing cars will pass by in an international racing event later this year.
Pattaya has targeted to receive as many as 27 million tourists, most of whom being foreign visitors, throughout this year.
The prime minister also visited Laem Chabang port’s Phase 3 development project in a nearby Sriracha district.
Srettha is scheduled for tomorrow to visit Utapao airport’s commercial upgrade project as part of the Eastern Economic Corridor projects in a nearby Baan Chang district.
