AS MANY AS 10,000 mostly young foreign and Thai tourists packed Haad Rin beach on Koh Phangan island to enjoy the Full Moon Party that continued all night till dawn today (Dec. 28) in a lively atmosphere with DJs playing loud music amid energic vibes, Naewna newspaper said.
Some revellers had painted their themselves with fluorescent body paints as they danced to the exciting rhythm at the world-famous party.
Police and officials were out in full force to take care of the safety of partygoers. Regional habour officials at both Koh Samui and Koh Phangan have been strictly ensuring that boats travelling to and fro are not overcrowded and all passengers wear a life jacket.
It is expect that this year’s last Full Moon Party will generate over 50 million baht in revenue with tourists having flocked to Koh Phangan two to three days in advance and all accommodations now full.
