PHEU THAI LEADER PAETONGTARN Shinawatra would be “too ashamed” to say anything either truthful or untruthful about the “illnesses” of her father/de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra, according to a former Democrat MP.
Thepthai Senapong today (Dec.7) posted on his Facebook page to allege that Thaksin’s daughter would be “too ashamed” to tell the truth or a lie about her father who may have considerably recovered from the undisclosed “illnesses” but yet has been staying in a tight-security, private ward at Police Hospital for three and a half months now.
Paetongtarn declined on Tuesday to respond to reporters’ questions about her father’s latest health condition for fear that what she might otherwise have said could probably be untruthful and no longer justify his extended stay at the hospital, the former lawmaker said.
The Pheu Thai leader would understandably prefer to not say anything for fear that her comment on her father could have otherwise contradicted the truth and refuelled criticism of him, Thepthai said. Paetongtarn apparently chose to remain tightlipped and instead of responding with words she only shook her head, wagged her forefinger and smiled.
Thepthai with an EM bracelet on his ankle following his release after 16 months behind bars due to an electoral rigging lawsuit insisted that the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large be no longer spared undue privileges whilst other sick convicts would be treated at the hospital in the premises of a prison.
Thaksin has been invariably alleged of feigning “illnesses” to keep himself from being literally put behind bars at Bangkok Remand Prison whilst flouting the country’s judicial and correctional procedures.
The Corrections Department and Police Hospital have been taken to task for applying double standards to grant allegedly excessive privileges to the deposed prime minister since he returned from self-exile abroad on Aug.22.
Thaksin who has not yet been scheduled to be dispatched from Police Hospital may not only stay in his private ward beyond a 120-day period due on Dec.22 but be released on parole as soon as later this month or around the upcoming February.
He had been originally sentenced in absentia to eight years in jail but it was curtailed by royal pardon to only one year under separate counts of misconduct perpetrated in office during his previous premiership.
