Policeman in hot water for letting Chinese tourist wear uniform

 

SWIFT action was taken after photos of a Chinese tourist wearing Thai police uniform circulated online with investigation revealing that a policeman had lent his uniform shirt to him to wear and take these pictures, Naewna newspaper said this evening (Dec. 5).

Pol. Maj. Gen. Somporn Sajpot, deputy chief of Police Education Bureau and spokesman, said National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimon had ordered an urgent investigation of these photos that show a man with a short haircut standing behind the tourist wearing the police uniform.

Moreover this tourist is also holding a police black cap emblazoned with the insignia and the Royal Thai Police title.

It was discovered that the man standing at the back is an officer at the Central Police Tactical Training Centre.

Upon being summoned and questioned, the policeman said his foreign friend had picked up his uniform shirt and put it on.

The Police Education Bureau has set up a committee to investigate the facts and determine whether this is a criminal or disciplinary offence.
