MYANMAR authorities are transferring two Thai women who got seriously injured after jumping from a building at battle-hit Laukkaing city in northern Shan State by ambulance to Mae Sai border town tomorrow morning (Nov. 27), Matichon newspaper said this afternoon.
Col. Natee Thimsen, commander of Chao Tak Army Special Forces and Thai head of Thai-Myanmar Border Consortium (TBC) said Myanmar’s representatives to this cross-border organisation had informed him an ambulance is being sent to pick up the two injured Thai women from Mong Pan in southern Shan State.
They are expected to arrive at Tachileik township, across the border from Mae Sai, at 2 a.m. and will then be sent to the Thai side at 9 a.m.
According to the Myanmar officials, the two women had got stressed upon being held at Laukkaing city where fighting has been raging and on Nov. 16 they both jumped from a building to escape and return to Thailand.
They are now suffering from broken legs and feet as well as urinary tract infection.
