THE BODY of a heart-broken Indian man who jumped in Bang Pakong river after killing his former girlfriend at a Pattaya hotel was found this morning (Nov. 21), TV Channel 7 said.
At 1 a.m. today a police team started searching for the 36-year-old unidentified Indian man after finding the body of his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend in the hotel room upon being alerted by her aunt.
She told police that she knew the Indian man very well and that her niece had gone to meet him to clear up their relationship yesterday afternoon.
However as she got worried because her niece had not contacted her for several hours she went to the hotel to check and upon finding her strangled to death with a shoelace she video-called the Indian man and talked to him for a while but in the end he said, “I am going to commit suicide to go be with my girlfriend,” after which the phone was cut off.
The police team chasing the Indian man found him standing in the middle of a bridge over Bang Pakong river at kilometre 50 of Debaratana road’s (Bang Na-Trad) parallel lane, on the way to Bangkok.
When the Indian man saw the police he jumped into the river and disappeared in the flowing water.
At 8 a.m. today Pol. Lt. Suriya Phumwat, a deputy inspector for investigation at Bang Pakong police station, Chachoengsao province, together with Chachoengsao Rescue Unit found the Indian man’s body floating in Bang Pakong river near a resident’s house in Bang Pakong subdistrict. A boat then went to bring the body back ashore.
His body has now been sent to a hospital for autopsy while the Chachoengsao police team is gathering details of his suicide to sent to Pattaya police station.
