Surviving daughter says brutal mum too beat up them

THE TWELVE-YEAR-OLD daughter of a man accused of killing five of his 10 children born to four wives said her mother joined him is brutally beating her and her four baby brothers to death and while she said if she did not do so she would be assaulted, she did not help them, Naewna newspaper said.

Ms. Jesada (surname withheld), 33, the second wife of Mr. Songsak Songsaeng, 46, was today (Sep. 23) charged with jointly seriously injuring another person, jointly harming others leading to their death and concealing their dead bodies over the death of her four baby sons ranging in age from one to 10 months.

She was taken to court and placed on an initial 12-day detention with no relatives showing up to post bail.

Miss Wi (pseudonym) told police that both her parents, Songsak and Jessada, hit her with hangers, burned her with candle wax and hot knife, kicked her in the stomach and waterboarded her. She has a scar on her forehead with this wound taking five months to heal.

Wi had told police that Jessada too participated in the crime and after she was unable to tolerate the beatings anymore she escaped and asked the neighbours for help.

A Ramathibodi Hospital testified that Wi has scars on her forehead, lips, chin, both legs, both feet, both hands, both upper and lower arms, abdomen, chest and back. The wounds were inflicted by heat, sharp and blunt objects and took six months to heal with the face being disfigured.

Investigation reveals that in October 2013 Songsak had used both hands to hit his infant son, Sak (pseudonym), in the stomach with great force two to three times leading to convulsions and death. He and Jessada then dumped his body behind Chatuchak Park.

On November 11, 2014, Songsak used both hands to beat up his infant son, Tee (pseudonym), on the body and stomach before locking him up in a TV cabinet where he later died. They then dumped his body behind Chatuchak Park.

Around April-May. 2016 the two of them did not take another infant son, Thana (pseudonym), to the doctor even though he had a wound on his neck with pus flowing out. He later died and they dumped his body off Phaholyothin Road.

In February 2018 both of them put a cloth on the mouth of their fourth infant son, Nat (pseudonym), causing him to suffocate and go into convulsion. They then locked him up in a television cabinet until he fell sick and died. His body too was dumped off Phaholyothin road.

Police investigators still have to interview 10 more witnesses in this case.

Songsak has testified that he could not stand the sound of children crying and did not like boys.

On Sep. 10, 2023 Social Development and Human Security officials, Bang Khen police together with Mr. Kan Chomphalang, moved to investigate and help two-year-old girl Nong Model, Songsak’s daughter with this fourth wife Sunan, but found out that she had already died and was buried under concrete at her mother’s house in Kamphaengphet where two other girls, one six years old and the other four, are being raised by her relatives and getting help for a charity.
