AMID social media criticism about appearing to angrily throw a pen down during a meeting with motorcycle taxi drivers last Saturday (Sep. 2), Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin today apologised for what happened with the photos circulating leading to people misunderstanding him, Naewna newspaper said.
Srettha explained that the photos could indicate that he was dissatisfied but in fact he was not displeased but being a public figure he would be more careful in future.
He explained that the motorcycle taxi drivers raised many issues and so he was hurriedly jotting them down but the pen ran out of ink after which he put it on the table and did not throw it down.
“But I understand that being a public figure I have to be careful with whatever I do because the photos released could lead to people misunderstanding. I apologise and will now be more careful,” he said.
Asked whether several pens should be arranged, Srettha replied that he too had to prepare many pens and actually he prefers the click top variety over the side click type as he has had trouble with the latter.
