Pita urges Srettha to keep his word while kayaking in Rayong

MOVE Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat urged Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to keep his word and stick to promises made to the people while campaigning for his party’s candidate in an upcoming by-election and kayaking at Rayong Botanical Garden to draw attention to this tourist attraction, Amarin TV said this afternoon (Sep. 2).

Talking to reporters as he promoted Mr. Phongsathorn Sornphetnarin, or Yo, his party’s candidate in the constituency 3 by-election, Pita said that while the position of opposition chief whip goes to the party with the most MPs, he could not fill it as he as been suspended by Constitutional Court from performing his duties.

This court ordered the suspension until it rules on a petition filed against him by the Election Commission for holding 00.0035% shares in non-operating ITV channel.

However Pita pointed out that he remains an MP but does not cling to any position.

Questioned about a royal pardon for Pheu Thai de facto leader Thaksin Shinawatra with his eight-year sentence reduced to just one year, Pita replied that it was his right to ask for a pardon.

Asked whether Thaksin has been given privileges that others do not enjoy, Pita replied that it is the right of everyone to be treated equally.

The Move Forward leader was warmly welcomed by people in Map Lao Cha On village, Chak Phong subdistrict, Klaeng district, while campaigning there with many taking photos with him.

He later went to Rayong Botanical Garden to promote this important tourist attraction where visitors can wander in a thousand-year-old forest or take a boat tour to discover local flora and fauna. Here too lots of people came to take photos with him and asked for his autograph.

He live-streamed kayaking through the waterways of this botanical garden to draw attention to this hidden gem.
