A CHINESE passenger who tried to attack a Tourist policeman with his skateboard at Don Mueang Airport as seen in a viral Tiktok video clip had got angry because the captain of a flight back to his homeland had refused let him come aboard because his behaviour would affect the other passengers, Sanook.com said today (Aug. 12).
Tourist Police Division 1 Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. ML Santhikorn Worawan said this incident occurred on Wednesday Aug. 9 at around 10.30 p.m. when the Don Mueang team was informed of a Chinese tourist, around 45 years old, screaming and shouting at the international departure lounge.
They quickly rushed there and found out he was throwing a tantrum after this airline’s staff refused to let him board the plane after the captain denied permission for him to travel along with the others.
The three Tourist policemen immediately took control of the area where this tourist was in a bad mood after disruption of his travel plans so that other passengers were not affected.
However his mood worsened and he then used his skateboard to try to hit one of the three policemen.
Even so, they managed to calm him down by pointing out that he had to comply with the airline’s pre-boarding agreement.
The police then arranged for this airline to fly him back to Shenzhen the next day on a flight that departed at 7.25 p.m.
Pol. Maj. Gen. ML Santhikorn explained that the Thai Tourist Police performed their duties in consideration of the impact on tourism as a whole and used gentleness and avoided violence in solving problems for tourists, talking to them until a satisfactory solution is found.
