THE teen male student who died while attending a computer class at a school in Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province, was killed after a pen gun carried by a fellow student went off, not keyboard explosion, Matichon newspaper said this evening (Sept. 15).
Initially it was reported that the keyboard of one of 10 new computers that Lat Pla Duk School only put to use on Monday exploded moments after ninth grade students started their class killing Noppasil (surname withheld), 15. He had suffered a deep, three-to-four-centimetre long fracture on his left eyebrow.
However Pol. Col. Phoomthat Kositwanichphong, deputy commander of Nonthaburi provincial police, did not believe that the keyboard had exploded and ordered Bang Bua Thong station police to examine the wound again.
Upon doing so it was clear it was a bullet wound. A friend of the deceased student later admitted to having brought a pen gun to the class and it suddenly went off.
However the pen gun was not found with the students saying someone had hidden it.
