HEAVILY flooded amid ongoing torrential rain that started last night (August 17) was Muaeng district of northeastern Ubon Ratchathani province with floodwater in one zone almost as high as a sedan’s roof, Sanook.com said this afternoon.
Several areas of the city remain inundated with floodwater mostly being knee high and this halted traffic as no one dared to go out for fear of engine damage.
However in front of a night market abutting road number 24 and another one near Big C hypermarket and The Grand Condo @ Ubon the floodwater was almost as high as a sedan’s roof with this damaging several vehicles and motorcycles.
Despite this severe flooding the city continued to be lashed by more rainstorms. Municipality and disaster prevention officials have arranged pumps to drain out the floodwater and alleviate the local people’s suffering.
