ON the second consecutive day of considering Bangkok gubernatorial and city council election results the Election Commission today (May 31) endorsed Chadchart Sittipunt as the governor of Bangkok after his landslide victory where he got 1,386,215 votes, Matichon newspaper said.
The election body held a video conference via Zoom Cloud to consider the election results and complaints that Chadchart’s vinyl campaign posters that can be stiched and used as bags and aprons could have led to the election being dishonest and unfair.
Meanwhile Mr. Srisuwan Chanya, who in his capacity of secretary-general of the Association for the Protection of the Thai Constitution had filed the complaints about Chadchart’s campaign posters, said he was not worried about an online campaign to remove him from his post because it had no impact as he had set up this body and it had been legally registered and is not a government agency.
