A DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE UNITED STATES’ Central Intelligence Agency today (Nov. 19) met with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to discuss bilateral and regional security cooperation.
National Security Council secretary-general Supot Malaniyom confirmed CIA deputy director David S. Cohen informally discussed with Prayut some bilateral and regional security cooperation and other topics of shared interest.
However, the NSC chief declined to elaborate on the deputy CIA director’s unscheduled visit to Government House.
Supot did not either confirm or deny as to whether Cohen’s visit may have been prompted by Monday’s quiet visit of Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Affairs Minister Don Pramudwinai to Myanmar where he allegedly handed out an unknown type and quantity of a Covid vaccine to the civil war-torn country.
