Thailand allowing quarantine-free entry for tourists from 10 countries on Nov 1

IN a nationally televised addressed at 8.30 p.m. tonight (Oct.11) Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said the country will on November 1 be initially reopened to tourists from 10 low-risk countries without the necessity of quarantine but they have to be fully vaccinated and present evidence of a negative result from a RT-PCR test before flying in, Amarin TV said.

Among the 10 low risk countries are the UK, Singapore, Germany, China and the US.

Gen. Prayut also said it is being considered to reopen entertainment venues and grant permission to serve alcohol in restaurants by December 1.

The prime minister added that the government had succeeded in protecting the people and it is time to face up to Covid-19 after acquiring vaccines and medicine to treat the infection.

The country is being reopened for economic growth so as to not lose the opportunity to attract tourists over the next three months, particularly the yearend holidays, he said.
