THE BANGKOK Metropolitan Administration today (Sept. 30) warned 11 communities in nine districts along the Chao Phraya river to start moving their belongings to higher places and closely monitor flooding, Amarin TV said.
Bangkok Governor Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang said the Meteorological Department had warned that a monsoon trough lies across the lower central and upper southern regions during Sept. 28-Oct. 2 with this triggering heavy rain. Additionally, larger volumes of water are also continually flowing down from the upper part of the Chao Phraya River basin into the Chao Phraya Dam.
People outside the the Chao Phraya river embankments along Bangkok Noi and Maha Sawat canals were given a flood warning. Affected are 11 communities, consisting of 239 households, in nine districts,namely Bang Sue, Dusit, Phra Nakhon, Samphanthawong, Bang Kho Laem, Yan Nawa, Khlong Toei, Bangkok Noi and Khlong San.
