A DEFENCE Ministry spokesman this evening (July 20) denied that Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan had got infected with coronavirus amid viral rumours in the social media that one of three persons with “Por” as his first name initial had caught the infection, Siam Rath newspaper said.
Lt. Gen. Kongcheep Tantrawanich, the ministry’s spokesman, said it had just been found out that a computer employee on the fourth floor of the office building had got infected but stated that Gen Prawit did not have close contact with this infected employee and is in good health and is coming to work everyday.
He also denied that Gen Prawit had gone to Bumrungrad Hospital for a test as rumoured.
According to reports an official at Gen Prawit’s office in the Government House whose duty is to fetch and carry important documents had got infected. Although this official was not in close contact with Gen Prawit, his work timeline put others performing different functions at risk.
