PM Prayut quarantined after risky selfie in Phuket

 

PRIME MINISTER Prayut Chan-o-cha has started a 14-day quarantine after a close contact with Covid-infected chairman of Surin Chamber of Commerce during the Phuket Sandbox event but has tested negative for the disease, Amarin TV said this afternoon (July 5).

Gen. Prayut took a photograph with Mr. Veerasak Phisanuwong, the commerce chamber’s chairman, during the trip but the latter was found to be infected with Covid-19 upon returning home.

The Government House revealed that Gen. Prayut was tested for coronavirus this morning and got the all clear.

Meanwhile the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) earlier stated that there were 6,166 new coronavirus cases over the 24 hours to this morning with 6,082  being among the general public and 84 in prisons and detention centres.

At the same time another 2,534 patients were cured with the total number of patients in the current wave that started on April 1 having reached 260,370 while there were 50 more fatalities.
