THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced late this morning (Dec. 27) that an additional 121 coronavirus cases emerged over the past 24 hours with 94 being local infections and 18 among migrant workers, Sanook.com reported.
Meanwhile one foreigner managed to slip into the country without the 14-day quarantine but eight other overseas arrivals have been so placed.
As a result, the total number of coronavirus cases have climbed to 6,141 while the death total stayed stationary at 60. Altogether 4,161 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul this morning posted on his personal webpage that all hospitals in Thailand, both public and private, must help out by testing and treating those infected and are suffering from Covid-19 without any condition and must not collected any fees from them for doing so.
This has been specified by the Department of Disease Control and those hospitals that do not give this service to coronavirus patients are guilty of breaking the law with the penalty being both a fine and a jail term.
Through cooperation this country will be able to halt the outbreak quickly, he added.
