A YOUNG Karen man with a 20,000 baht bounty offered for his capture for beheading his girlfriend and removing her heart was caught today (Sept. 18) after a massive hunt near the Thai-Myanmar border in Tak province, Thai Rath newspaper reported.

The shocking murder of Ms. Ann, 17, at her house in Mae Ramat district of this border province yesterday led to a big hunt for Mr. Ae, who does not have a last name, 21, by a 50-strong team from the local police station and a border patrol police unit who were joined by some rangers and officials.

Ae had been had been upset after his girlfriend had broken up with him and had come to patch up their relationship. However when Ann refused to go back to him, he took out a foot-long knife and chopped off her head and removed her heart, then escaped.

Upon being tipped off by villagers that they had seen Ae running off shirtless with a long knife in his hand, the team surrounded a corn field where they suspected he had hidden and also ran patrol boats along the Moei river to prevent him from crossing the border to Myanmar.

In the meantime Ae’s Facebook page was flooded with over 300 messages from his friends blasting him for murdering Ann.

A background check showed that Ae was born in Thailand with his grandparents and parents having come from Myanmar. He had also studied up to the ninth grade and these qualifications led to him obtaining a 10-year renewable pink ID card.

He sometimes worked as a contractor but was heavily addicted to games and liked roaming around. His girlfriend was bored with him and this was why she had broken up with him.
