No relatives claim body of TV drama director

A SUCCESSFUL Thai television drama director who shot himself dead at a condominium in the middle of Bangkok last night (June 21) and his body undergoing an autopsy today has not been claimed by any of his relatives, INN News and Sanook.com reported.

Ramathibodi Hospital’s Forensic Science Section team said the body of Mr Chaninthorn Prasertprasarn, 49, TV drama director of Channel 3, is undergoing an X-ray after which an autopsy would be performed with this to be completed this afternoon.

However none of his relatives nor any other person has contacted them or brought papers to submit and take his body for religious ceremony.

Chaninthorn had shot himself dead with a 9 mm pistol at his second floor condominium at 8.30 p.m. last night.

Police detectives said there was no sign of struggle nor his belonging being searched but they would be questioning his relatives in detail about this death.

However some people close to Chaninthorn had told police that he was stressed out about his health problems.

Mr Chaninthorn, or Term, was the director of several most successful television dramas in Channel 3’s history from the first one “Raeng Ngao” part 1 and 2 with this followed by other top hits such as “Burisad Bangkab Khaen” “Chan Eay Chan Chao”  and “Lueamprairak”

He is also a famous writer with his latest work being “Than Chai Bavornruj (Suphaburod Jutathep)”
