BORDER Patrol Police Region 2 today (Oct. 21) arrested three juveniles, two aged 17 and one just 14, as they were smuggling nearly 200,000 methamphetamine pills from Bueng Kan to Sakon Nakhon province, TV Channel 7 and MGR Online said.
All three male teenagers confessed to having done this several times previously.
A Border Patrol Police intelligence unit pursued a white sedan, registered in Chachoengsae province, down Ban Wang Yao road in Phon Charoen district, Bueng Kan, following it till it reached Mueang district, Sakon Nakhon, and moved in to arrest the teenagers as they slowed down.
Upon searching the vehicle they found a sack containing approximately 197,960 meth pills.
The three juveniles, who reside in Sakon Nakhon, confessed that they were contacted by a Thai man residing in Laos to transport the drug from Si Wilai district, Bueng Kan, to a customer in Ban Mueang district, Sakon Nakhon. They were to receive 40,000 baht if the delivery was successful and admitted to having done this several times before.
They were identified as Sorachai, or Tle, 17, Witchukorn, or Euro, 17, and Rawit, or Focus, 14.
Initially, police charged them with “jointly distributing a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine or yaba) with intent to sell, an act committed for commercial purpose, leading to its distribution among the public and affecting national security or public safety.”
Investigation into this drug network is ongoing.
