BANGKOK residents are urged to be careful because at 4 p.m. today (Oct. 1) heavy rain swept through several areas of Bangkok with significant amounts of hail falling, causing alarm in affected areas, Naewna newspaper said.
In addition to the heavy downpour, strong winds battered certain locations with residents stunned to see hail falling.
Motorists should exercise extra caution due to poor visibility and slippery roads. Residents in at-risk areas are also advised to be wary of dangers posed by gusty winds and hail, which could impact buildings and vehicles during this period.
Meanwhile F91 Trafficpro said their volunteers reported that a hailstorm hit Ratchada-Lat Phrao area, specifically Soi Suea Yai, at 4 p.m.
Moderate rain continued in Thawi Watthana, Taling Chan, Bang Phlat, Chatuchak, Lak Si, Chom Thong, Phra Khanong, Bang Na, Prawet, Bang Kho Laem, and Bang Khun Thian at 5 p.m.
The storm system is moving in northwesterly direction and holding steady with the highest accumulated rainfall recorded in Taling Chan district reaching 91.5mm.
