ANOTHER travel YouTuber accompanied the older brother and sister of popular vlogger Hlun Solo who died in Georgia to seek the assistance of Interpol in this case as they are puzzled by the mysterious circumstances of his demise, TV Channel 7 said tonight (July 30).
Amid lingering doubts about the death of Hlun Solo, 26, whose real name is Mr. Bawornthat Pengsuk, Mr. Akir Wongsaeng, or Wanchai, who has also made his mark as a travel YouTuber, went to the police headquarters with his older brother, only identified as Moss, and older sister, Ms. Bawornlak, to ask Interpol branch in Thailand to coordinate with Georgian authorities in resolving this case.
Wanchai said Georgian police confirmed finding Hlun Solo’s body in a hotel on July 14. Initially, no wounds or evidence indicating violence or assault were found and he appeared to be asleep. However, his siblings were informed by Thai authorities of their brother’s body being found on July 19.
They are unsure if there was a communication error or misunderstanding while confirming their brother had no pre-existing medical conditions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerasak Charaschaichai, or “Dr. Moo,” a forensic expert, noted that if Hlun Solo died from asthma, medical equipment should have been found nearby or at the scene.
The possibility of inhaling sulfur gas from a hot spring and then dying at the hotel is unlikely, as sudden death would occur in a confined space. Wanchai also observed that the weather in Tbilisi is quite hot, making a gas leak from a heater improbable.
Regarding a second autopsy of Hlun Solo’s body in Thailand, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wirun Suphasinghsiripreecha, commander of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police Hospital, revealed that the process must begin with the family filing a police report in the local area. The investigating officer must then submit the matter to the Forensic Institute before the process can proceed.
He mentioned that a second autopsy will have certain limitations, such as residual toxins in the body that may dissipate over time. Receiving the initial autopsy report will help clarify the facts.
Meanwhile, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwphan, police spokesperson, revealed on “Sajee Tee Kadee” programme that the forensic investigation process involves many components, including autopsy, crime scene investigation, physical evidence, electronic data, conversation records, travel history, and accommodation history.
He added that more time is needed for Georgia to complete the investigation, and Thai police is ready to support all procedures, especially by providing information through the Foreign Affairs Ministry and Interpol.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Chaturaphat Phiromkaew, commander of the Foreign Affairs Division and deputy spokesperson, said that police had received a report that Georgian authorities are currently investigating the crime scene, conducting an autopsy, performing forensic examinations, and gathering evidence to accurately conclude the facts and cause of death.
No possibilities or hypotheses have been ruled out until complete evidence and forensic results are available. He affirmed that the process is being conducted according to international standards to ensure accurate, transparent, and fair results for all parties.
