Update – Myanmar man wanted for brutally murdering girlfriend nabbed in Yangon

 

MYANMAR police have apprehended one of their citizens who brutally murdered and dismembered his girlfriend at a flat in Bangkok and then fled across the border at Yangon (Rangoon) today (June 13), Amarin TV said this evening.

After an arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Aung Pyae, 36, Thai police had contacted their Myanmar counterparts who quickly apprehended him. The suspect not only killed his girlfriend Ms. Aye Aye Nwe, 34, he also dismembered her body and put the parts in a plastic box and fled to Mae Sot border town, Tak province, on June 10 then crossed back to his home country via a natural channel,

Myanmar police are now transferring the suspect to Myawaddy township, and he will then be handed over to Thai immigration police at Mae Sot border crossing.
