A MULTI-PARTISAN, ad hoc committee was today (June 4) proposed set up in unprecedented fashion to look into allegations that a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Interior had surreptitiously ordered any of his subordinates to illicitly support Bhumjaithai contestants vying for MP in the Feb.8 general election, specifically those in Phuket.
During a fresh interpellation at parliament today, People’s MP Parit Wacharasindhu called on Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul who concurrently acts as interior minister to set up an unprecedented, ad hoc panel which he suggested consist of representatives of varied parties such as the likes of the Pheu Thai, Klatham, Democrats and the People’s in addition to the ruling Bhumjaithai to investigate the sustained scandals over which Provincial Administration Department Director-General Narucha Kosacivilize had allegedly instructed former Phuket provincial undersecretary Rungruang Thimabut to “Do Help the Blue” during a run-up to the general election in southern island constituencies.
In political jargon, the Blue definitely refers to the Bhumjaithai, core of the current coalition government surreptitiously steered by de facto party boss Newin Chidchob.
Rungruang who has been unexpectedly transferred by Narucha from the southern island province has earlier alleged that his superior had texted him on Line to tell him to “Do Help the Blue” roughly a month ahead of the Feb.8 election whilst the department chief had categorically dismissed the allegations saying somebody else could possibly have used his Line account without his knowledge.
The notorious department chief who is more or less speculated to be promoted as undersecretary of interior in the upcoming October has been suspected of not only instructing the former Phuket provincial undersecretary but many others under his command to “Do Help the Blue” in regard to the previous Bhumjaithai electoral campaigns.
Narucha is largely known as a staunch protege of Newin’s since he previously performed as governor of the de facto Bhumjaithai boss’s lower-northeastern home province.
Meanwhile, Parit said he doubted that the prime minister would probably order for transfer of the department chief in question to streamline work of the proposed, multi-partisan panel for fear that he would probably otherwise tamper with any relevant subordinate officials. The People’s MP made his comments following last week’s remarks made by the prime minister that an ad hoc committee would be set up to clear such bureaucratic scandals in which, he said, he had been by no means involved.
In his concurrent position as interior minister, Anutin did not attend today’s House weekly meeting and delegated Deputy Interior Minister Jeseth Thaiset who categorically dismissed the alleged involvement of the prime minister and any other ministerial figures over the scandals surrounding the department chief and denied that any in the bureaucratic circles may have been practically under influence of the so-called Blue Regime.
