THE Supreme Court today (April 24) accepted a lese majeste case filed by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) against 44 former MPs of the dissolved Move Forward Party, including the former camp’s leader Pita Limjaroenrat, but decided to not suspend 10 of them who are currently People’s Party MPs, Naewna newspaper said.
The court ruled that this is a serious case on whether the 44 former MPs violated ethical standards by proposing an amendment to Section 112 of the Criminal Code, or the draconian lese majeste law.
The first hearing was scheduled for June 30.
The 10 People’s MPs who were not suspended are as follows:
– Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, party leader;
– Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul;
– Mr. Rangsiman Rome;
– Dr. Wayo Assawarungruang;
– Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatskul ;
– Mr. Nattawut Buaprathum;
– Mr. Surachet Pravinvongvuth;
– Mr. Nattacha Boonchaiinsawat;
– Mr. Theerachai Panthumas;
– Mr. Taopiphop Limjittrakorn.
