Yingluck tells Thaksin to kick out Bhumjaithai from Pheu Thai-led govt

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

IN WHAT WAS SEEN as a rare phenomenon in power play, fugitive, former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has personally told her brother/de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra to kick out the Bhumjaithai from the Pheu Thai-led coalition government in the face of unresolved, inter-party conflict.

During a recent, closed-door session of prominent Pheu Thai partisan figures held by Thaksin, father of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Yingluck telephoned from overseas to suggest that the Bhumjaithai, the second largest coalition partner under de facto party boss Newin Chidchob, be ousted from the Pheu Thai-led government for good, according to a partisan source.

However, Yingluck stopped short of advising how soon the Bhumjaithai, invariably viewed by the Pheu Thai rank and file as a thorn in the side of government, might possibly be kicked out and thrown into the opposition bloc at parliament, according to the partisan source who only spoke on condition of anonymity.

Newin’s camp has been largely accused of standing in the way of Thaksin-designed plans and schemes such as legislation to open casinos in certain tourist spots under the name of entertainment complexes where mega-billions of baht in business interest would be at stake in regard to those who may obtain operating licences from the Pheu Thai-led government.

Nevertheless, the de facto Pheu Thai boss has found his power play stuck in a cul-de-sac whilst pulling the strings behind his daughter/”puppet” prime minister since the super-elite, powers-that-be would ultimately disagree to the whims of ousting the ultra-conservative Bhumjaithai.

Thaksin who had earlier openly bragged about bringing his globetrotting sister back home from self-exile abroad supposedly without being literally put behind bars as had been his own case would be more or less pressed to think twice over his power play to do without the Bhumjaithai card though Palang Pracharath and Thai Sang Thai MPs, currently in the opposition bloc, could possibly be brought into coalition in lieu of Bhumjaithai MPs to constitute a meagre majority of coalition lawmakers at parliament due to a possible ouster of Newin’s camp from the Pheu Thai-led government.
