WELL-KNOWN Thai webpage CSI LA which has been continuously revealing information about the State Audit Building (SAB) that collapsed on March 28 today (Apr. 16) uncovered what appears to be a private 200-seat cinema within the crumbled 30-storey highrise while asking whether too much government budget is being spent on the comfort of officials, Naewna newspaper said.
This webpage posted a message saying: “SAB had a ‘private cinema’ with 200 seats? A picture from a 3-D construction plan shows that in the new building… there is a room similar to a large cinema with rows of chairs like a cinema – accommodating more than 200 viewers.”
The writer then asked whether this budget is for the people or the comfort of those in power?
“An agency whose duty is to inspect the transparency of the state but instead has ‘extravagences’ hidden in its own budget,” the message said.
