PEOPLE’S Party hit back at Pheu Thai after being accused of launching a no-confidence debate too soon as this government has only been at the helm for three months by pointing out that the timing depends on when corruption occurs, Naewna newspaper said late yesterday (Dec. 5).
People’s MP Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn said that as Pheu Thai was previously at the opposition benches they should know full well that his party debates on issues of substance and did not take so much time that fellow opposition members did not get a chance to speak. Nor has its MPs leaked the issues to be raised to coalition parties beforehand.
Regarding the timing of the censure debate, this is linked to when corruption and inefficiency in the administration takes place, he said, adding in saying it was too early to hold one is Pheu Thai afraid because if not they would say it could be held anytime at all.
Wiroj also slammed Pheu Thai for being confident in its power to strike deals and having enough votes to sail through a non-confident debate.
While Pheu Thai would likely survive, more important than that is winning the confidence of the people listening to it nationwide, he pointed out.
