LED BY THE SO-CALLED P-MOVE activist network, a few protesters today (Oct. 15) staged a brief, dramatic scene outside Government House to desperately draw attention of non-committal members of cabinet inside.
During a weekly cabinet meeting in a main building at Government House, the leading demonstrators literally climbed a gate and shouted out to those ministers who did not seem to hear. The gate-climbing protesters were gently deterred by policemen from getting inside the premises.
Dozens of the P-Move protesters who have gathered outside on an adjacent road since the last nine days aired aloud their frustrations and disappointment at Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and those Pheu Thai-led ministers as none has come out for talk with the protesters about varied, sustained problems pertaining to villagers’ forest land occupation in the provinces.
The peaceful demonstrators have been surrounded by policemen on the road outside Government House with police vans and cars literally blocking access by automobiles which might be otherwise used in support of the protesters. However, no violence has been reported to occur between those protesters and policemen.
The P-Move activism highlighting in peaceful gatherings of dozens of protesting farmers has taken place outside Government House and other government premises since the times of former coup-leader-turned-prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
