A VIDEO CLIP shared online shows a small plane that crashed into a mangrove forest in Chachoengsao’s Bang Pakong district killing all nine aboard yesterday (Aug. 22) nosediving to the ground, Amarin TV, Naewna newspaper and TV Channel 7 said.
Killed in the crash of Thai Flying Service Cessna Caravan C208 (HS-SKR) plane were two Thai pilots, five Chinese tourists and two Thai flight attendants. The plane took off from Suvarnabhumi Airport to fly to Trat when it crashed at around 3 p.m.
Facebook user Nitinan Ruangrong Mgn posted the 65-second video clip showing the small plane nosediving to the ground. He also offered his condolences to the families of the nine victims.
Meanwhile Pol. Maj. Gen. Chatrachai Nantamongkol, head of the Police Forensic Science Centre 2, said at 3.30 p.m. that more than 80 human parts have been found around the crash site. The search continues but there remains smaller parts to be recovered.
The body parts are being sent to the Police Hospital to confirm the identity of the nine victims.
Also found were around 60% of the plane wreckage and these have been sent to aviation officials who will be investigating the cause of the crashed.
