Hot pot chain shuts down after 20 years

SHUTTING down after 20 years of running a chain of hot pot restaurants is Hot Pot Buffet with the management announcing the closure on its Facebook page which has over a million followers, TV Channel 3 Plus News and Naewna newspaper said today (Aug. 22).

This chain was established 2004 under its original name “Coca Fresh Suki”. So popular was its shabu and grill buffet that when it later listed on the Stock Exchange it had expanded to 117 outlets.

However competitors moved in to grab a market share and together with the economic downturn during the Covid-19 pandemic as well as other problems led to the management gradually closing their outlets with there being 33 left in 2012.

This year there were only four outlets left with the management today bidding goodbye to its customers and the curtain coming down on another legendary restaurant chain.
