The guide, Mr. Phan Ngoc Vu, 35, said Lan had during July 3-5 given him 11,000 baht to go buy “snake medicine No. 7”, police said.

Upon getting the order Phan said he passed it on to a man named “Tiger” who was told to directly contact Lan to deliver it which he did at one of the Atrium hotels in Bangkok.

Police have sent a sample of this poison for a test to find out what exactly it is and are going through surveillance camera clips to trace and apprehend the man nicknamed Tiger.

Police also found out that Lan’s Japanese businessman husband had contacted Phan to give 70 million dong, which is approximately 90,000 baht, to the seventh person in this case who is Lan’s sister and who flew back to Vietnam on July 10.

Phan said he exchanged the money and gave 90,000 baht to Lan’s sister who was at that time with Vietnamese-American citizen Mr. Hung Dang Van, 55, who was among the six who died in the fatal poisoning at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel.

Lan’s husband has come to Bangkok from Japan and told police that his wife had invited Ms. Thi Nguyen Phuong, 46, and her husband  Mr. Hong Pham Thanh, 49, to invest over 10 million baht in building a hospital in Japan.

However she did not use this money for personal expenses but gave it to the second Vietnamese-American who died in the fatal poisoning, Ms. Sherine Chong, 56, who was an investor in the US.
