Police warn women upskirting now increasing

CENTRAL Investigation Bureau (CIB) posted a warning on their webpage that upskirting is now increasing with perverts secretly snapping photos up women’s skirts to sell them to secret online groups, Naewna newspaper said today (Jan. 27).

Upskirting is happening at various places such as BTS stations, footbridges, escalators and bathrooms.

CIB urged women to take the following precautionary steps:

– When sitting or climbing stairs try to cover the hem of your skirt with something heavy like a book or a handbag;

– If you are wearing a short skirt you should wear slip shorts underneath as another layer of protection;

– Cover yourself well, wear pants instead of skirts to protect yourself;

– If you notice a suspicious person or feel unsafe quickly get away from that area;

– Stand close to the edge or in a corner to observe all that is going on.

Those who fall victim to this type of threat are advised to quickly inform the security guards or contact the police.
