THAI Airways International Plc (THAI) apologised after a passenger was scalded with hot coffee during a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai causing severe burn and pain, Matichon newspaper said.
The unidentified passenger was scalded when the hot cup of coffee slipped out of the hand of a flight attendant while handing it over to another passenger seated further in.
THAI said it is closely monitoring the injuries and medical treatment given to this passenger and will cover all the medical expenses and will also offer remedial measures for consideration.
The airline is also investigating the incident through relevant regulations and will periodically coordinate and inform the injured passenger.
THAI will use the facts, problems and shortcomings that led to this scalding during the flight to improve its service so that it doesn’t occur again.
