OUTGOING public health minister Anutin Charnvirakul said this afternoon (Aug. 24) it was good see newly-appointed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin meeting his predecessor Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House as it showed Thais understand and forgive each other for the sake of the country, Matichon newspaper said.
“These things make me feel good. Someone who used to be on a different side today with spirit coming to accept duties, one person handing them over and the other accepting them, a lovely picture.
“We should use this opportunity to unite and let go of problems, conflicts and belonging to different sides to push the country forward. It is good if no one tries to create divisions,” Anutin said.
At 11.55 a.m. when Srettha left Thai Khu Fah Building at Government House he was smiling broadly with Prayut having come out with him to say goodbye but neither of them gave an interview to the press waiting there.
