RUAM THAI SANG CHART leader Pirapan Salirathawipak has resigned as MP but still holds onto the top post of the ultra-conservative party.
Pirapan who ran as No. 1 Ruam Thai Sang Chart candidate in party-listed mode today (July 3) posted on his Facebook page to confirm he has practically quit as an elected lawmaker as of the date for the nationwide election.
Nonetheless, Pirapan confirmed he is continuing to lead the party which currently has 36 MPs under de facto party boss/caretaker prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Apart from being the party leader, he is concurrently performing as secretary-general to the caretaker prime minister whose nine-year rule will sooner or later end upon an oath-taking ritual for an elected one.
Both Prayut and Pirapan contested last May’s election as partisan candidates for head of government.
