MOVE FORWARD MP RANGSIMAN ROME today (June 24) pledged to have June 24 officially declared as National Day once and for all.
Speaking during a panel discussion marking the 1932 Change of Rule at Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan campus today, Rangsiman insisted June 24 be officially declared National Day in the time of an upcoming Move Forward-led government.
The Move Forward MP commented that it is time Thailand which has existed for centuries without National Day finally had one like all other sovereign states.
Rangsiman said the court-dissolved Future Forward had earlier proposed the official declaration of June 24 as National Day but the historical initiative was almost immediately turned down by the outgoing Prayut regime.
Now that the Move Forward-led government has been set up to run the country following the May 14 election, such a motion at parliament will certainly be repeated, he said.
