Uncle Sak arrested on an old warrant

POLICE used an old arrest warrant issued in the slapping of Mr. Seksakon Atthawong, a red-shirt turncoat popularly known as Rambo Isan, to arrest Mr. Weerawit Rungruengsiriphon, or Uncle Sak, 62, who yesterday (Oct. 18) punched up Mr. Srisuwan Chanya, secretary-general of the Association for the Protection of the Thai Constitution, this afternoon, INN News and Sanook.com said.

Policemen apprehended him just as he was about to appear in a popular TV show using the arrest warrant issued in 2021 after Seksakon, formerly assistant to the Prime Minister’s Office, was slapped in the face and had not been revoked.

When they arrived at the Crime Suppression Division headquarters, a group of red shirt followers who had heard about his arrest had already assembled there to give him encouragement.

They also yelled at police accusing them of not being fair.
