PHANG NGA police are hunting for a young man who shot and seriously wounded his girlfriend and also injured her friend at a petrol pump restroom late last night after a recent move to break up, INN News said today (August 20).
Pol. Lt. Col. Dusit Phongphan, investigating officer at Mueang Phang Nga police station, rushed to a PTT petrol pump in this southern coastal city after being alerted of the shooting.
There he found Ms. Khemisara (surname withheld), 18, a vocational student, shot twice with a .38 special revolver with one bullet penetrating her lung and the other the genitals. Also shot was Ms. Warisa, 19, also a vocational student, but the bullet hit her shoulder and she was not in serious condition.
Khemisara was first taken to Phang Nga Hospital but because of her critical condition was referred to Vachira Phuket Hospital. However Warisa continued to be treated at the former hospital.
Police investigation revealed that the girls had just returned from a restaurant in the city and stopped at this pump to go to the restroom. However as the pump’s facility was under renovation they had to use a temporary toilet just outside the compound.
Meanwhile Mr. Chakrabongse, 20, who usually sells fresh kratom leaves, rode up on his motorcycle and upon seeing the two women leave the toilet first fired two shots at Khemisara after that four at Warisa but only one hit her, then fled.
Police also found out Chakrabongse had a relationship with Khemisara but as the two of them frequently quarrelled about a week ago it seemed likely that they would break up.
Chakrabongse is also currently facing legal action for having stabbed a police officer.
