TV presenter wife of German footballer to return despite being mugged

THE TV presenter wife of German World Cup winner Mats Hummels confirmed in a letter to the Thai police that she will return to this country despite having been mugged recently, praising Thailand for being a tourist-friendly nation, Naewna newspaper said today (Feb. 12).

Cathy Hummels, 34, was attacked while going for a walk on a Phang Nga beach on Feb. 5 with the assailant hitting her on the head several times and then running off with her cell phone.

That same evening she flew to Dubai with the crew who came here for the filming of RTL II show “Kampf der Realitystars.”

Phang Nga police are now hunting for the attacker but in the meantime Thai Tourist Police sent her a letter expressing regret at what had happened to her.

In her reply Ms. Hummels thanked the Tourist Police for their warm words and the effort the Thai police is making to bring the perpetrator to justice while confirming she might come here to produce a show for the next season or just for leisure.

“Throughout my stay in Thailand I felt very welcome and safe. I appreciate the kindness from everyone in your wonderful country. Therefore, I look forward to visiting Thailand again soon.”

According to the Daily Mail, the social media influencer and mother of a four-year-old boy, Ludwig, got married to the Borussia Dortmund defender in 2015 but is now separated from him.
