Tropical depression Dianmu to lash Thailand tonight

 

BANGKOK and its vicinity together with much of the rest of the country face isolated heavy to very heavy rain and strong wind as tropical storm Dianmu which has downgraded to a tropical depression rolls in tonight (Sept. 24).

In an urgent warning issued at 4 p.m. today the Thai Meteorological Department said Dianmu was moving through  Laos’ Savannakhet province and was just 80 kilometres away from Mukdahan province

Packing maximum sustained winds of about 55 km/hr, the storm is moving slowly in a west-northwest direction.

It is expected to reach Mukdahan tonight bringing isolated heavy to very heavy rain and strong wind to the North, the Northeast, the Central region including Bangkok Metropolis and its vicinity, and the East.

People in the risky areas should beware of the severe conditions.

 Affected areas are as follows:

On September 24, 2021:

–   North: Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

– Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Bung Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, Roi Et, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani.

– East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

On September 25, 2021:

– North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Tak and Phetchabun.

– Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Roi Et, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram and Surin.

– Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi,  Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom and including Bangkok and its vicinity.

– East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
