THE spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced late this morning (Dec. 21) that the number of Covid-19 cases climbed by 382 over the past 24 hours with 14 of them being Thais, Siam Rath newspaper reported.
Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, CCSA’s spokesman, said proactive screening of foreign workers uncovered 360 more cases while eight travellers from overseas had also entered state quarantine.
This takes the total number cases to 5,289 while the death toll stayed stationary at 60. Altogether 4,053 patients have been discharged from hospital while 1,176 are still undergoing treatment.
Of the 14 new Thai cases, one each emerged in Ayutthaya and Tak provinces, two in Nakhon Pathom, three in Samut Prakan and five in Samut Sakhon.
Of the eight people who arrived from overseas and entered state quarantine, three came from the US and one each from the UK, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Ukraine and Sudan.
