A COUPLE was shot dead in Chonburi province by their neighbour with whom they had long-running arguments over their pet dog’s excessive barking with this lasting an hour last night (Nov. 10) before he lost his temper and he gunned them down, Thai Rath newspaper report.
Samet district police team rushed to the house and found Mr. Yothin Kaewfainork, 39, who ran an air-conditioner business, shot thrice and dead in the front yard. His wife, Mrs. Boonyanee Kaewfainork 38, who was also shot three times, was still breathing when they arrived and was rushed to the hospital but died on the way.
Boonyanee’s sister, Mrs. Wasana Udomkamolseree, 48, told police that before the killing a car had come and parked in the alley. This led to the deceased couple’s dog, Ai Daeng, barking nonstop.
A relative of Mr. Jirat, or Toon, Wuthimananon, 49, who lived in the opposite house walked up and said that their dog has been barking for an hour now, and to kick it.
Her husband, who was watching TV in the room, shouted to the neighbour to go kick the dog herself.
A little while later Jirat came round to shoot the dog but just then Yothin and Boonyanee came out of the house so he shot them instead.
Pol. Lt. Col. Krit Thitithatsana, head of Samet police station, said after killing the couple Jirat got on his motorcycle and rode up to the police station and surrendered and also handed over his Glock pistol.
He confessed to killing the couple and has been charged with premeditated murder, possessing a firearm without a licence and carrying it in public without reasonable cause.
