THERE were 11 underwater earthquakes around India’s Nicobar Islands from yesterday afternoon till evening (Apr. 9) with magnitude ranging from 3.9-5.7 on the Richter scale and at a depth of 10 kilometres, TV Channel 7 said. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation said the seventh underwater quake, of 5.6-magnitude, struck at 5.31 p.m.
