Another Thai woman dies mysteriously in Poipet

JUST days after a Thai woman allegedly fell to her death from a building at Cambodian border town Poipet, just across from Aranyaprathet, another woman was found hanged in a room there yesterday (Nov. 3), Amarin TV and TV Channel 7 said last night.

Mr. Bird, a team member of Immanuel Foundation (IMF) in the Eastern Region, said Cambodian authorities found the body of Ms. Suthatip, or Mint, 28, hanging from a window in her room at Duangchan Soi 2 in Poipet. This is a Chinese residential area not far from the Thai-Cambodian border.

It is uncertain whether her death was a suicide or murder.

A review of her Facebook page shows that five days earlier she had posted a selfie in her room with a message saying, “”Because in the end, our hearts want to feel safe more than we want to endure.”

Her family travelled from Chachoengsao province to meet this foundation’s team seeking help in coordinating to bring her body across to the Thai-Cambodian border checkpoint at Aranyaprathet.

Last Wednesday (Oct. 29) Ms. Kanokwan, or Bai Mon, 27, allegedly fell to her death from the third flood at Attwood Import Export building in Poipet. Autopsy results from the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police Hospital, are awaited.

While Cambodian autopsy results indicate that she died from severe impact after the fall, with eyewitnesses having seen her walking around the building, and speculated it was suicide, Thai authorities found several unusual issues with one being a tear in the crotch of her pants, which appeared to have been yanked; absence of blood ; and her arms and legs not deformed.

Regarding speculation that Kanokwan’s death could have stemmed from the disappearance of 18 million baht from the company located in this building which she worked for, IMF confirmed that she was not directly involved.
