THE Bureau of the Royal Household announced at 1.58 a.m. today (Oct. 25) that Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother has passed away peacefully as follows:
The medical team providing care for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother had requested permission for Her Majesty’s admission to Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, on September 7, 2019, for monitoring of her health.
It was noted that during her stay at Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother suffered from several illnesses. The medical team detected various systemic abnormalities, requiring continuous medical treatment.
Since October 17, 2025, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother has been suffering from a bloodstream infection. Despite the medical team’s best efforts, her condition has progressively worsened. On Friday, October 24, 2025, at 9.21 p.m., she passed away peacefully at this hospital at the age of 93.
His Majesty the King has issued a royal command for the Bureau of the Royal Household to arrange the funeral with the highest royal honours, in accordance with royal tradition. The body of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother will lie in state at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace compound.
His Majesty the King has also decreed a one-year mourning period for members of the Royal Family and royal court officials from the date of passing.
