Entertainment events not banned but keep it appropriate: PM

PRIME MINISTER Anutin Charnvirakul said this afternoon (Oct.25) that while the country mourns the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother there are no bans on entertainment events and concerts but people should ensure they are appropriate with weddings and ordinations too permitted according to tradition, Naewna newspaper said.

Bars can remain open and close that their usual time but should not go all out in entertaining their customers with the owners knowing what they should do.

Asked about the criteria for “appropriateness,” the Prime Minister mentioned that discretion was required and he did not dictate rules but believed that each activity should be organised with discernment and this being up to the operator.

“When we experience the loss of a respected elder, we should know what level of responsibility we should exercise. I have faith in the maturity of operators and the Thai people,” Anutin said.

Reporters also said that Anutin today changed his official car to a Lexus LM 350h Executive Four-Seater in silver sonic titanium. This vehicle is the same one that former prime ministers Settha Thavisin and Paetongtarn Shinawatra used to inspect provincial government offices.
