 Paetongtarn reported to possess 13.8 billion baht in wealth

PRIME MINISTER PAETONGTARN Shinawatra was officially reported today (Jan. 3) to be a billionaire national figure with some 13.8 billion baht in wealth.

Paetongtarn, daughter of de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra, was officially reported to have 13.8 billion baht in varied categories of assets, compared to 147 million baht possessed by her spouse Pidok Suksawat, according to the latest report released by the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Of the 13.8 billion baht total, the woman prime minister was reported by the anti-graft agency to have 1.08 billion baht in bank deposits, 358 million baht in property and concession rights and 583 million baht in real estate assets, among others.

Paetongtarn was reported to possess land in Hokkaido prefecture of Japan worth 30 million baht as well as land in Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani worth some 9.9 million baht.

She was also reported to own 23 automobiles, mostly of luxury types including a 10.6 million baht Bentley, a 6.7 million baht Rolls-Royce and a 3.19 million baht Tesla car.

Meanwhile, former prime minister Srettha Thavisin was officially reported to possess 625 million baht in wealth, compared to 360 million baht in assets owned by his spouse Puckpilai Thavisin, according to the NACC report.

Srettha who was impeached and deposed of power by the Constitutional Court last year was officially reported to have 314 million baht in real estate, 99.5 million baht in bank deposits, 135.7 million baht in other assets, 22.8 million baht in property and concession rights and 1.39 million baht in investment funds.

The real estate tycoon-turned-prime minister, known to have been personally associated with Thaksin’s fugitive sister/former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, was also reported to own a 50 million baht Aston Martin car.
